Vandalism and Sprinklers

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Tuesday, February 26 @ 6:45pm

Sometime last night, graffiti was sprayed on the south entrance sign (the Parkside Villas neighborhood to our South was also affected with similar damage). A report has been filed with the Allen PD, and we hope to have the sign repaired in the next week.

Additionally, the sprinkler system on the North side of the neighborhood has been running for most of the day; the malfunction was reported to our landscape maintenance company, and the problem was fixed around 5pm.

Theives Stealing Delivered Packages

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Tuesday, December 18 @ 8:06am

As in years past, there are a few dishonest people throughout the Allen / Plano / McKinney area that are stealing packages that have just been delivered by UPS and FedEx. Although we haven't received any reports in our neighborhood (thus far), this problem has occurred in our neighborhood in past years.

If you see anything suspicious, please contact the Allen PD immediately at (214) 509-4321.

Posted by rbutler on Wednesday, August 22 @ 9:57pm

Stolen Trash Cans

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Monday, August 6 @ 11:29am

In the early hours this morning (probably between 4-5 AM), several trashcans (but not recycling containers) in the alley of Woodhaven and Fir Harbor were stolen. Apparently this is a common technique of identity thieves.

If you saw anything suspicious this morning, or experienced this theft yourself, please contact the Allen Police Department at (214) 509-4200 to file a report.

Attempted Burglary on Oak Brook, 1700 Block

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Thursday, July 6 @ 1:42pm

Yesterday, Wednesday July 5th, around 11:00 AM an unknown individual tried to enter a house in the 1700 block of Oak Brook Ln. while the homeowner was home alone. Unfortunately, the homeowner did not get a good look at the individual, so we do not have a description to provide.

Please be on the lookout for any suspicious individuals, and always make sure to lock the doors to your home — and don't forget to close your garage door!

Neighborhood Scam / Security Warning

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Monday, February 27 @ 9:52pm

Thief

At tonight's open-forum meeting we were told that the scam artist we reported on on December 28th is still active in the area, and has approached at least one resident.

Please be aware that in addition to being a scam, there is a security risk as well, as this resident was home alone, and the perpetrator later opened the gates to their fence and walked through their backyard.

"Mike" the scam artist is back!

Crime Alert!

Posted by rbutler on Wednesday, December 28 @ 2:58pm

For at least two years, a man has been approaching in Allen and Plano residents and posing as a new neighbor in order to scam them out of money. He is so calm and smooth that resident's never suspect and he doesn't even try to hide his car. There is no telling what else he is up to (he could be scoping out your house for burglary or he could be a sexual predator) and there is no telling what someone that fearless is capable of.

If you see him, call 911 immediately and try to get a license plate. If you see any adult male on your street that is not a neighbor, call the Allen PD's non-emergency tip line at (214) 509-4321 and ask them to come check it out. Follow this link for stories from residents discussing their unfortunate encounters with "Mike" the scam artist.
